Frequently Asked Questions

  • How should the collection cups be cleaned?
    The parts (minus the tubing and tubing adapters) should be submerged in boiling water for 3 minutes to sterilize them before your first use. Then after each subsequent use, we recommend that you disassemble the collection cups, silicone breast shields, valves, and valve bases, rinse them with cold water, and then hand-wash them in warm, soapy water. They should then be rinsed well and allowed to air-dry on a dedicated rack or clean cloth. Using sterilizers or harsh detergents can warp the delicate silicone pieces and should be avoided. UV sterilization or cold sterilization is acceptable though.
  • I need help figuring out how to use my collection cups.
    What we've found is that there can be a bit of a learning curve when it comes to maximizing milk output and comfort with wearable cups, so please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns!
  • Which pumps are compatible?
    Please see the "Compatible with" section above for a list of compatible pumps.
  • How often should I replace the parts?
    The Silicone Duckbill Valves should be replaced after 1-2 months, but the silicone membranes that are sold as part of our Spare Backflow Protectors should last around 4 months before needing to be replaced. For best results and longevity of the parts, we recommend that they be boiled once to sterilize them, and then after each subsequent use, we recommend that you hand wash them in warm, soapy water
  • Can I steam sterilize the cups?
    High heat sterilization methods like a steam sterilizer will most likely cause the silicone parts to wear out faster and you may even see the hard plastic pieces begin to warp. 
  • Which inserts work with the collection cups?
    Legendairy offers 15 mm inserts, 17 mm inserts, 19 mm inserts, and 21 mm inserts. If you need smaller, Maymom is available on Amazon from 10-24 mm, Freemie FitMe is available from 15-25 mm and Beaugen cushions reduce by 2 mm or the XS and S flanges from Pumpin Pals fit!
  • Which parts are silicone?
    The breast shield, duckbill valve and backflow membrane are silicone while the valve base, membrane cap and cup are BPA-free plastic.
  • Can I learn more about the cups before I purchase them?
    Our user manual is available for download here!
  • Can your pink duckbills work with the collection cups?
    No. The list of pumps the pink duckbills work with is available here and the replacement duckbills for the collection cups are available here.
  • How do these cups work?
    These are used in place of a flange/connector/bottle set up that would be used with the typical pump configuration. These can sit inside your bra/shirt and allow for discreet pumping. No more bottles hanging off of your body! If you use them with a portable pump, you can be mobile AND hands free!

Love them

I love these. I was worried they wouldn’t work as good as traditional flanges. They are quiet comfortable and I can swing my arms around in front of me 😂 They work great with my Zomee and my main pump Unimom Opera.

Honestly life changing!

I’m 3w postpartum. 12 years since my last baby, when breastfeeding conveniences and whatnot just didn’t exist, or were very limited. This time around I knew I wanted to succeed in breastfeeding, even it was mostly through pumping. I tried a few pumps, they were good, but I loved the idea of cups like my wearable, so I don’t have flanges hanging out.

I tried these cups with my spectra and holy cow! (Quite literally), seriously so so good! They hold a lot too, which is great since I’m almost at 8oz per pump on my non slacker side!

If you’re on the fence, just do it, you won’t regret it!!

So easy!

Gentle and comfortable, and very secure. At first I didn’t get much output but the more I use them, the better it gets. Use with my Spectra S9. Use the y shaped tubing for best suction.

A must have!

I have a Zomee Z2; this was the first time ever getting cups, I've heard so much about them and wanted to try them to have some time to be more mobile and give my arms a break since I didn't like idea of having to purchase a pumping bra for my bottles and they were in the way. So when I saw that they had cups to adapt to your pump I was so happy! These have given me the ability to use my regular bras, take with me and not be tied down to a wall; and since the flanges that came with my pump (pump brands love to think we all are 24 to 25mm or something🙄) didn't fit me, luckily thank God I didn't get mastitis cause these made the settings on my pump so much more stronger and empty me out completely, the silicone is amazing, so much better than just plastic flanges that can cause friction. These have helped me so much cause I happen to he 28mm so the size was much needed and has helped me get every drop of milk. I naturally produce low output this time around so I definitely recommend these along with their supplements. Can't wait to see them add every size for every woman to be able to have a set. Cause these are so great and not to mention so much cheaper cost wise compared to buying cups over 300$ when you aren't sure about cups and if they're right for you; you save money in long run getting these. And just to show that they help you get the most outta your pump settings and pass the time faster without having to hold bottles up to you and gave your arms get tired and make…

Love how you can use them with the pumpables pump

The liquid shield kit that comes with the pumpables was affecting my milk production so I bought these cups and my milk production has increased love these cups! I use these cups with the pumpables genie advanced and I’m just obsessed and how they make it portable… looking into buying the Duette pump too

Also they are very comfortable get the right flange size and the experience will be pain free

You can use them with the pumpables pump w/ out having to “hack” the original adapter it is just fine but also comes with other adapters for different wearable cups but you don’t need other wearable cups these will do the job and the cups are up to 8oz so if you’re an over supplier these are awesome
