Meet This Month's Legendairy Little, Lillie

Each month we donate a portion of our profits to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program.

Born via an emergency c-section performed by four doctors at only 31 weeks, Lillie weighed 8 lbs 7 oz. Of that, it is estimated that 4.5 lbs was her actual weight while the rest was the weight caused by large lymphatic masses on Lillie’s arms and chest wall. During her 4.5 months in the NICU, Lillie went through Sclerotherapy surgeries weekly to shrink the masses. This was a process where Lillie had to be sedated/intubated and surgical drains were placed to remove fluid from the masses, then that space was filled with an antibiotic. Sclerotherapy will allow the masses to slowly shrink down to scar tissue over time. Lillie is also on an immunosuppressant long term to aide in shrinking the masses.

Lillie has been home around a month now and is enjoying her new surroundings. She sees 10 specialists regularly who all are located two hours from her home. Each time she has a Sclerotherapy procedure, Lillie must spend the night in the NICU for monitoring. She receives all of her nutrition from an NG tube due to reflux caused by prematurity and pressure on her stomach from the masses. As she continues to grow, she is being monitored by a plastic surgeon to consider removing her masses, although each mass will require multiple, extensive surgeries. Despite these challenges, Lillie has the most contagious smile and continues to amaze her family everyday with her strength and will to fight.

The Legendairy Littles donation will be used to help Lillie's family to help with her continued care.

If you would like to donate directly to her family, you can do so through their GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/prayers-for-lillie?utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&rcid=0cb40b8c8c9144a1b34e748d48e1e78e
