Meet This Month's Legendairy Little, Olivia

Each month we donate a portion of our sales to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program.

Olivia’s mom went in at 24 weeks 6 days for a high-risk pregnancy appointment that was hours away from her home. At the end of the appointment, she was admitted to the hospital because of absent end-diastolic flow from her placenta. After a few days, Mom was discharged on strict bed rest but because of a possible medical emergency that would require immediate attention, she had to relocate to a rental property to be closer to the level 3 NICU. At 30 weeks 5 days, Olivia was born at 2 pounds 1 ounce due to HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count). Olivia was strong and fought hard to keep growing during the 11 weeks she was in the NICU. The week she was to be discharged, doctors found a bilateral inguinal hernia. Thankfully, she was able to have surgery while still in the hospital and she was able to go home with her family the next day.

Olivia will turn 6 months old in November and is doing great! She is now about 10 pounds and is such a happy little girl. Olivia's family wants to pass on the message of hope to others going through intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), absent-end diastolic flow, and HELLP syndrome. They would also like to pay it forward by gifting their Legendairy Littles donation to a former family in the program!
