Power Pumping is intended to mimic cluster feeding in which baby has phases of short frequent feeds at the breast only interrupted by brief pauses. This has a positive effect on milk production and prevents prolactin levels (major milk-making hormone) from falling back to its basis level. ⁣Check the power pumping chart above for more details.

For many women, a noticeable increase in the amount of milk can be seen within 3 days. Other women may need up to 14 days to achieve the maximum effect of power pumping.

Have you tried power pumping?

I have a very low milk supply and have been trying g to increase let downs as well as milk output would this help me? I also got a late start to breast feeding.

Question: when doing this do you still change settings during the pump? so if you have a letdown at 2 minutes can you change the setting back and forth or only once during the first ‘pump session’?
