Each month we donate a portion of our proceeds to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program. During the month of May, we will be featuring Rohan. Legendairy Milk is making afinancial contribution to Rohan’s family to assist with his ongoing medical needs.

Rohan was born at 25 weeks 1 day due to PPROM weighing just 1 pound 13 ounces. PPROM stands forPreterm Premature Rupture of Membranes. This is a pregnancy complication where the amniotic sacbreaks before 37-weeks gestation. Shortly after birth, Rohan’s focus was on learning to eat and breathe. He also had a large PDA. PDA stands for Patent Ductus Arteriosus, it’s a heart defect that mostcommonly happens in premature babies when the temporary fetal blood vessels fail to close after birth.

During his first four months of life, Rohan remained in the NICU. He continues to grow and gainstrength, weighing nearly 9 pounds! The PDA in Rohan’s heart has closed on it’s own in recent weeksand he no longer needs respiratory support. The final milestone that Rohan is focusing on before beingdischarged from the NICU is feeding. He does have a feeding tube, but that will not stand in his way ofenjoying adventures with his parents once discharged.

Rohan loves to listen to Winnie the Pooh books, and he especially loves getting cuddles from all of thenurse friends he has made in the NICU. Rohan’s fur brother, Bumi, is eager to meet his new humanbrother.
