Each month we donate a portion of our proceeds to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program. During the month of October 2024, we will be featuring Cruz.
Cruz was born full term and healthy. He had no signs of any health concerns until the day before he turned 6 months old. On this day in June 2024, the family’s life took an unexpected turn when Cruz went into cardiac arrest. He coded in his Mom’s arms and was placed on ECMO, a life support device where he would stay for nearly 9 days. It took 19 days for Cruz to be extubated. Cruz spent 30 days in the ICU and was then transitioned to a lower-level unit for an additional 33 days. His family is grateful that Cruz’s heart is slowly healing. Under the care of a home-health nurse and weekly checks with his cardiac transplant specialists, Cruz has been able to return home.
Cruz is the bright and spirited soul to everyone who knows him. He enjoys the outdoors, splashing in the water, and laughing with his big sister. He is a sweet and content little guy that everyone loves to spend time with. Cruz enjoys spending time with his big sister, Bailey; they share so many laughs together. Along with his DAd, he is a dedicated Dodger fan. The family enjoys every moment of having Cruz at home babbling and enjoying life.
During the month of October, Legendairy Milk will be making a donation to Cruz’s family to help with her ongoing medical expenses. You can donate directly to Cruz's family through their GoFundMe. This GoFundMe was set up by a close friend. The family’s church and school community has been a strong support of theirs during these trying times and they wish to extend appreciation to everyone who has offered prayers, encouragement, and presence that have given the family the strength that they need to persevere.
