Dr. Amy A. Patel, MD, IBCLC, FAAP is a double board-certified pediatrician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant specializing in breastfeeding medicine, newborn care, and maternal–infant health. In her clinical role as a neonatologist, she strives to give babies the best possible start and knows first hand the feeding struggles new mothers face during the newborn phase. Combining her medical expertise with advanced lactation training, Dr. Patel works closely with parents to address complex feeding challenges and maternal health concerns that impact breastfeeding. Her approach integrates clinical insights with practical, personalized guidance to help families meet their feeding goals with confidence. 

Dr. Patel is passionate about education and advocacy and collaborates with pediatricians, obstetric providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive support for mothers and babies. Through her work, she remains committed to advancing maternal–child health and promoting equitable access to timely lactation care. Her experiences working with NICU mothers as well as her first-hand experience breastfeeding and pumping lend a unique perspective as she aims to empower mothers at all stages of their feeding journeys.
