Each month we donate a portion of our proceeds to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program. During the month of January, we will be featuring Max.

During Max’s routine 20-week ultrasound, it was discovered that Max had not been growing as expected. At that time, he was diagnosed with severe intrauterine growth restriction. The remainder of his mom’s pregnancy was complicated and he was born via an emergency c-section in March 2025 at only 27 weeks 5 days gestation. At birth, Max weighed 1 pound 5 ounces and had to be immediately intubated at a Level 4 NICU. Since his birth, he has faced endless challenges including Chronic Lung Disease, surgery due to suspicion of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), eye surgery for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), he has overcome multiple infections and has received a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.

Max continues to live in the NICU and defy any odds that were stacked up against him. He has shown all of his medical team as well as his family and friends just what unparalleled strength looks like. At 8-months old, he was able to go off of his ventilator for the very first time. Max continues to make other meaningful progress at his goal of getting to go home to be with his parents and two older sisters.

Max loves to watch his mobile and laugh with his parents. The nurses have all learned that Max enjoys flirting with them and his contagious smile lights up the room whenever someone new comes in. For the first six-months of his stay in the NICU, his nurses referred to him as “Mad Max” since he rarely liked to be touched and was a grumpy guy. But his nickname has now transitioned to be “Miracle Max” and he is the happiest and smiliest boy around and has learned that he loves to be held. He enjoys his time with the physical therapist and cuddling with his sisters when they come to play. Max is excited for his turn to graduate from the NICU and go home to meet his dog, Mitch.

During the month of January Legendairy Milk will be helping Max's family to help with his ongoing medical bills.
