Meet October's Legendairy Little, Emersyn

Each month we donate a portion of our proceeds to a child with medical needs through the Legendairy Littles program. During the month of October 2025, we will be featuring Emersyn.

At only 25 weeks pregnant, Emersyn’s mom rushed to the hospital when she stopped feeling Emersyn move. A rare placental issue had caused her umbilical cord to coil tightly, cutting off the blood and nutrients being delivered to Emersyn. Emmy was born at 26 weeks and 3 days, weighing only 500 grams- 1 pound 1.6 ounces.

Since birth, she continues to overcome incredible odds. Emmy has battled chronic lungs, needing multiple types of ventilators, had an emergency surgery for NEC, and had a temporary ostomy. Recently she had her colon reconnection surgery. Emmy has shown her strength through fighting an infection and the daily battles that come from being a nana-premie.

At 34-weeks gestation, Emmy was diagnosed with ROP stage 2 and needed eye injections. Thankfully the injections have been helpful and her eyes have seen improvements. August 20 was Emmy’s colon reconnection surgery and has been very successful road to recovery. At the beginning of September,Emmy weighed in at 5 pounds 8 ounces!

Emersyn’s parents are so thankful to God for the miracles that He has worked in their baby girl. They are hoping to celebrate NICU awareness month in October by being discharged and letting Emmy enjoy her home.

Emmy loves to snuggle with her mama while they read her a scripture of the day. She loves all of the nurses who are taking care of her and the doctors who are guiding her care! Every now and then she will give a smirk to whoever is taking care of her, and that person has the bragging right for that day. Emmy loves to be read books or when her mama is singing worship songs to her! She loves to stay curious and is always looking around her environment. Emmy’s 2.5 year old sister, Jordyn, is excited for her to keep growing so that she can come home and play.
